Quality of life and its associated factors among sub fertile couples in the Colombo District of Sri Lanka: a cross-sectional study

Introduction: Pregnancy and motherhood are highly esteemed in Asian cultures. Consequently, subfertility is considered a major life issue for both men women, which turn could affect their quality of (QOL). Objectives: To assess the QOL its associated factors among partners sub fertile couples Methods: identify primary secondary couples, this community-based study used stratified cluster sampling method to recruit 3366 married whose 15-49 aged female were residing Colombo district. Out 423 identified, 384 successfully interviewed. The Fertility Quality Life (FertiQoL) tool, developed at Cardiff University was translated culturally adapted Sri Lanka QOL, based on total score out 100. An interviewer-administered questionnaire collect data factors. Results: In study, median FertiQoL 68.3 (IQR: 60.2-77.2) male 65.2 58.0-73.5) partners. Male had significantly higher scores than Advanced age, longer duration marriage, level education, having least one living child found be (p<0.01) with couples.
